Case
A comprehensive visual brand identity for Österlens Gelato, a gelato store concept.
Challenge
The challenge was to create a versatile branding concept that would work across both printed and digital platforms. The goal was to establish a welcoming and adaptable brand identity concept for a ice cream shop, catering to a diverse audience.
Design
Introducing Österlen's Gelato – a brand characterized by warmth and inclusivity, that invites you to savor handmade gelato crafted in the heart of Österlen. Recognizing the geographical disparity between Österlen and Italy, I was inspired to incorporate elements of traditional Scandinavian folk art. Complemented by a soft pastel color palette in order to create a cohesive and inviting visual identity.

01

Intro

I've been fortunate to work with Inconsu, a brand new and exciting start-up company in the travel business. They want to make traveling easier, safer, and more secure for customers while increasing the sales of travel companies. It's a white label solution that gives travel companies better control of the customer experience.

02

Case

Inconsu needed help with making the first visualization of their product. The main objective of this project was to come up with a design prototype that would showcase Inconsu’s ideas and concepts in an appealing way to investors. While we did have the end users in mind throughout the process, this was a very UI-heavy project that focused on look and feel.

Inconsu knew what they wanted but weren't sure exactly how these ideas would come in place.

03

Process

Inconsu were open for alternative design solutions if it would improve the user-friendliness of their product. The pre-meeting research was all about looking closer at what other companies in the business have put out.

After the initial research, mind mapping and ideation, we did a full day of sketching, and we came up with a rough design that was simple and straightforward from a user perspective, while also taking the clients wishes into account. We then went onto build a simple prototype so that we could set the basic navigation and user-centred aspects.

04

Design

The design we did was all about keeping it as simple as possible. Why? Mainly because there is harmony in simplicity. We strived to make a design that would create a sense of calm, while also exude professionalism and safety. Therefore, we only used white and different shades of blue to accentuate buttons and other clickable objects. Everything you can do within the app is reachable through the navigation menu at the bottom and it doesn't take more than 2 or 3 clicks on average to get where you want.

The "persona" we made for this project was a travel company specialized in excursions in South Africa. To personalize the experience of the app, we implemented a tiny "survey" as a part of the sign-up process. In this way, the content shown at the top will be according to the users liking. The app is a end-to-end solution, that gathers the initial exploration of excursions as well as booking and tickets in one place.

Results

So what results did we produce? During our final meeting, the client expressed that they were very satisfied with what we had come up with. Peder at Inconsu confirmed a few weeks later, that the company had secured investors thanks to the high-fidelity prototype that visualized the companies’ ideas. My team and I were very happy to hear this because it meant we had accomplished the objective of this project.

“ This was exactly what we needed and more! I am so happy with what you have done for us in such a short period of time."

Peder Swartling, CEO at Inconsu
“ I cannot wait to show this for the potential investors on Thursday. I feel confident."
