End-to-end solo project where I designed and developed an online store for Espirítu Santo.
Espirítu Santo (ES) is a new and exciting retailer focused on premium incense and other products related to spiritual well-being. An end-to-end solo project where I designed and developed an online store.
The task was to design and develop a fully functional store for the domestic Swedish and international EU markets, with integrated email automation and customer newsletter sign-up.
Setting up a brand new store means a lot of expenses for any store owner. So this project was more about designing and developing rather than putting a lot of time (and money) into research.
ES's store concept revolves around modern spirituality and self-care. Whether by lighting herbal incense to unwind or using soap with nurturing properties, ES wants more people to affirm their spiritual and physical well-being in everyday life.
The initial talks between me and ES were about forming a joint vision for the project's end goal (functionality and design). I did an initial analysis to map out some best practices and gather inspiration from other Shopify stores that sell similar products.
I kept the frills to a minimum and focused on making the UX sitemap as simple as possible. Although ES has a wide assortment of products, the goal was to make all the site content reachable through one or two clicks.
The landing page is structured to showcase products, campaigns, and the store concept. We've continuously analyzed how the landing page performs to improve its performance in different iterations.
I focused a lot on the look and feel of the website. I wanted to create a sense of calm in the design that would build trust that echoes with the ethos of ES. The store's graphic profile consists of warm, earthy, and muted colors. I combined serif and sans-serif fonts to make the text more dynamic and soft yet still accessible.
